City of Donaldsonville Love Louisiana Outdoors Grant Application

LCDBG Application Available for Review

The City of Donaldsonville announces that an application for the FY 2021/2022 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) funds will be submitted for the following:

Activity: LCDBG funds will be used to repair and redevelop the recreational playground including multiple age accessible recreational apparatus and bathrooms located across from Crescent Park

Objective: To provide adequate service for low-moderate income residents of the City of Donaldsonville

Location: The target area consists of the area directly across from Crescent Park on Highway 18 (otherwise known as Veterans Memorial Drive) at the current location of the deteriorated playground and associated parking and restroom facilities at 337 Mississippi Street.

Amount: Reconfiguration and reconstruction of existing playground to be ADA compliant, special needs compliant, and contain compliant and accessible parking and restrooms. Additionally, to install new safe and ADA and special needs complaint outdoor playground equipment, fall rated surface, sun protection / covering and other associated and permittable requirements as to meet Parish and City Ordinances as required by the municipal code. Amount is estimated at or below $400,000.

All citizens, particularly persons of low and moderate income and residents of blighted areas, are encouraged to submit their views and proposals by December 21, 2021 to the Mayor Leroy J. Sullivan, Sr. at the following address:

The application is to be submitted to the Division of Administration, Office of Community Development on or about January 6, 2022. A copy of the application is available for review at the City of Donaldsonville City Hall between the hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and on Friday 7:30am – 11:30am. All feedback must be provided by close of business at 4:30pm on January 4, 2022.
