The City of Donaldsonville's annual Mardi Gras parade will roll at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, the parade committee announced.
The route will begin at the South Louisiana Fairgrounds along Church Street, travel right on Marchand Drive and then another right down Railroad Avenue.
The grand marshal will be Quintin D. Taylor, the chancellor of River Parishes Community College in Gonzales.
The king will be Chul “Charles” Soon Jang, who serves as the president of Hyundai Steel Louisiana.
The queen will be LaTonya Sullivan-Prejean, who is a law enforcement professional and military veteran with more than 18 years of service to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
New this year for the parade will be the addition of maids. Each member is a high school junior or senior.
They include:
- Maid LaQuana T’Miah Sullivan is a senior at Donaldsonville High.
- Maid Georgia Ann Vega is a senior at Ascension Catholic High.
- Maid Taylor Nicole North is a senior at Lutcher High.
- Maid Jamiya Stevenson is a junior at Donaldsonville High.
- Maid Allayana Carter is a senior at Donaldsonville High.
- Maid Jelani Johnson is a senior at Donaldsonville High.
- Maid Keianna Marie Nailer is a senior at Donaldsonville High.
- Maid Lael Kylin Judson is a junior at Dunham School.
The committee includes Mayor Leroy Sullivan, Tamiko Francis Garrison (chair), Jeffery Henry, Steven Joseph, Kee Kee Julien-Judson, Tyrone Madison Jr. and Juanita Pearley.
Volunteers will be ASAP Riders, Donaldsonville Lions Club, Desiree Sanders, and Ira Garrison.
The City of Donaldsonville and CF Industries are presenting sponsors. The purple sponsor is CareSouth, while the gold sponsor is McKim and Creed.
